Reverse Osmosis

Reverse osmosis is a membrane separation process for filtering out dissolved minerals in drinking water throughout North Georgia. Pressurized water is forced through a semi permeable membrane to separate the dissolved mineral ions from the water leaving 99% pure water behind. However, only a small amount of the water delivered to the RO unit will actually get through the membrane.

The remainder of the water and the concentrated minerals are piped to a drain. This makes RO a costly and impractical process as a whole house filter system. It is however the most effective and most economical way to remove minerals in drinking water throughout North Georgia and provide you and your family with great tasting, quality, clean, drinking water.

A small RO system can be connected to refrigerators, ice makers, or a special drinking water tap to provide you with high quality water for consumption. This process is used by many coffee houses, restaurants, and bottling companies to provide their customers with a great tasting product.

Another option for pure drinking water is an under sink carbon filter. This type of filter sends tap water thru a carbon filter and then to the faucet. It can be set up with a special faucet or connected to the cold water line at the existing faucet. These systems do not make the water as pure as reverse osmosis but it will remove most taste and odor problems. The benefits of carbon over reverse osmosis is there is no water wasted and no storage tank needed, thus saving space. The filter is under constant pressure allowing for instant and continuous water when the faucet is turned on.
